Sevilla FC has extended the contract of Brazilian forward Lamela until 2026, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old has been with the club since 2018 and has made over 100 appearances for them in all competitions, scoring 29 goals.
The extension of his contract means that he will remain at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan until June 2026.
Sevilla FC manager Jose Mourinho said: "We're delighted to extend the contract of one of our most important players.
"Lamela is a key player for us and we're confident that he'll continue to perform at the highest level."
Lamela, who was born in Brazil but represents Argentina internationally, joined Sevilla from Atletico Madrid in 2018.
He scored 24 goals in 55 games during his first season at the club, helping them to win La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
Injuries have limited him to just six appearances this season, but he remains a key member of the squad.
Lamela is currently part of the Argentina national team, where he has won four caps and scored one goal.
This news comes after Sevilla FC announced their promotion to La Liga following their victory in the play-off semi-finals against Real Betis.
Sevilla FC will now face Athletic Bilbao in the final of the play-offs on May 14th.
It will be a tough game, but if they can overcome Athletic Bilbao, then they will be crowned champions of Spain for the first time in their history.
Sevilla FC fans are excited about the prospect of lifting the trophy and celebrating their success.
They will be hoping that Lamela continues to perform well for them and help them achieve their goal of winning the league title.
