Valencia has secured €30 million in transfer revenue after selling key players this summer, as the club looks to rebuild its squad for next season.
The club's sporting director, Joan Laporta, revealed that they had agreed terms with several clubs for the sale of players, including Brazilian winger Rafael Leão and Argentine forward Rodrigo Bentancur.
Leão is one of Valencia's most expensive signings in recent years, but he has struggled to find his form since joining from Manchester City in January. He scored just four goals in 29 appearances for the club last season, which led to his exit earlier this month.
Bentancur was also a high-profile signing for Valencia, but he failed to impress during his short time at the club. The midfielder only made six appearances before being loaned out to Udinese in June.
Despite these departures, Valencia remains committed to rebuilding their squad for next season. The club will use the transfer revenue generated from these sales to sign new talent and improve their overall performance on the pitch.
Laporta said: "We have sold some important players who have contributed significantly to our success over the past few seasons. We will now focus on bringing in fresh talent and strengthening our squad."
The sale of stars such as Leão and Bentancur will be a significant blow to Valencia's finances, but it is hoped that the money raised will help them secure top-flight status once again. With a strong squad and a clear plan for the future, Valencia is well-positioned to compete at the highest level in Spanish football.
