Atletico Madrid secured all three points in their La Liga clash with Getafe on Saturday, thanks to a brace from forward Ramón Ibarra. The Atleti forward put the hosts ahead after just four minutes when he headed home a corner.

Getafe fought back through substitute Carlos Soler, who scored his side’s first goal with a well-taken finish from outside the box in the 67th minute. However, it was not long before Ibarra restored Atletico’s two-goal advantage, heading home a cross from Diego Godin to make it 2-1.

The win sees Atletico remain in second place in the table, level on points with Real Madrid and Barcelona. They will be hoping to continue their good form against Levante next weekend, while Getafe will look to bounce back from defeat at the hands of Real Betis earlier in the week.
