Lille, the French Ligue 1 club, have announced that they will be targeting Sevilla's midfielder, Jules Kounde, as part of their summer transfer plans.
The French outfit is known for its strong defensive midfield and has been linked with several players this season, including Barcelona's Gerard Pique, Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, and Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku.
However, Lille is set to target Kounde, who has impressed at Sevilla this season, particularly in their recent performances against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Kounde, 22, is a highly-rated defender who can play both as a central or wide defender. He has been praised for his work rate, aerial ability, and reading of the game, making him a valuable addition to any team looking to improve defensively.
Lille's manager, Christophe Galtier, has stated that he wants to add quality players to his squad ahead of next season, and Kounde fits perfectly into that plan.
"Jules is a player we've been tracking for some time now," said Galtier. "He's a young talent with a lot of potential, and I'm sure he'll bring something special to our team."
Sevilla have also been linked with several high-profile transfers in the past few months, but it remains to be seen whether Kounde will join them on loan or permanently.
Regardless of where he ends up, Kounde's arrival could boost Lille's possession in the upcoming season, which was one of their main weaknesses last year. With Kounde's presence in the middle of the park, Lille should be able to dominate games and secure more victories in the coming seasons.
